This is for my homies in Miami

I might be warming up to the idea of seasons.
I took these pictures this morning at Brian’s house. I don’t think they really capture the brilliance of any of the colors, but you get the idea.

you wanted something i wrote so here goes: (it’s kinda rough - I’m still revising)
“I’d say it was the future had it not disappeared into the past”
And the aged, spotted, falling apart can’t exist in this world
by this world I mean america
if it has a crack it must be thrown out
the building has asbestos? don’t dig it out, just tear the whole thing to the ground
so we can build a better & newer
house hall dorm city building better & new
Where are the cracked, shifting, unsteady-on-their foundations but beautiful
Where are the enter-at your-own-risk houses perched on stilts
with their plaster molding and their art deco tile and their etched glass and their
wallpapered walls and leaky ceilings and chandeliers missing a dozen crystals and beautiful.
they are condemned
no matter that they still love to be lived in and are loved by those who would live in them
no matter that they still have use
they are unsafe unhealth uncouth
just like the aged and spotted, falling apart
in the nursing homes
forget that they are our vanguard
forget that they are non-empty that they are protecting us
from emptiness
forget that they know the secret to the wheel and could tell us what to do next
while we go around telling ourselves what to do.
“what to do?
we need new!”
